Ysgol Gyfun Cwm Rhondda were represented 3 times last term at the Millennium Centre by the school choir, following 3 separate invitations to sing there! The choir was a big part of celebrations for "It's My Shout" – a festival that celebrated short Welsh films in November. The choir received an invitation to sing at a conference discussing educational equality in the company of the Education Minister Huw Lewis in November, and again to sing a Christmas program as part of the Centre's Christmas celebrations.

An anti-bullying poster competition was held in year 7 and a high number of excellent posters were submitted and the great effort was obvious in each one. The whole year deserves high praise for their work.

Logan Jenkins' poster won first place, with Ieuan Griffith a close second and Kaya Boon in third place. Congratulations to the three of them!

It was a pleasure to welcome Leanne Wood AM and Plaid Cymru leader to the school recently. Ms Wood came to talk to Sixth Form students as part of their work towards the Wales, Europe and the World module for the Welsh Baccalaureate Qualification. She gave a thought provoking presesntation on the Rhondda Valleys, and questions from the Sixth Form started some very interesting discussions. Many thanks to her for giving the time to visit us.
